Bhubaneswar: The girl, who accused well-known Odia film producer Akshay Parija of sexually exploiting her, has reportedly sought police protection.
In a written complaint, which went viral on Friday, she alleged that the filmmaker had threatened her with dire consequences and to make her nude pictures viral if she marries the person of her family’s choice and insisted on keeping physical intimacy with her against her will. Laxmisagar police, however, has denied receiving any such complaint.
While she had been staying in a rented accommodation in Bhubaneswar for the past 5 years, the filmmaker had been visiting her and exploiting her sexually on the pretext of casting her in a film and helping her start a business for the past one year, she alleged, adding that her wedding was fixed recently.
She further said that if the pictures are made viral, she will be forced to end her life.
In a video message which was also released on Friday, the girl, who claims to be from a lower caste, has reiterated these allegations. Watch here:
In a counter complaint at Nayapalli police station, the filmmaker said that the girl had been blackmailing him after inviting him to her house for dinner when she recorded some objectionable videos with him. It is alleged that the girl has threatened to make the video public and demanded Rs 6 crore from him.
“The girl is associated with a gang which is blackmailing me. The gang of 3-4 persons is involved in such activities for extortion of money. You will know the real story soon,” a local TV channel quoted him as saying.
Stating that the police had questioned him in this regard, the film producer said he is cooperating with them to reveal the truth. “I also have the photographs of my meeting with the girl and will produce those before the police during the investigation,” he added.
