[Watch] Virat Kohli Reaches Historic 50th ODI Ton As ‘Guru’ Tendulkar Applauds

Mumbai: Virat Kohli climbed a new summit on Wednesday as he became the first cricketer to hit 50 ODI hundreds.

And what an occasion and stage to bring up the milestone. It was the World Cup semifinal, that too, against New Zealand to whom they had lost many times including in the previous edition in England.

A flick off Lockie Ferguson to deep square leg brought up the three-figure mark for Kohli.

Kohli’s feat was applauded by none other than the great man Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record with 49 tons till just the other day.

Watch the moment in video clips shared on X:

Kohli ultimately fell for 117, which came off 113 balls and included 9 fours and 2 sixes.

It was Kohli’s third century of the World Cup, which helped him become the highest scorer in a single edition of the World Cup.
