Baripada: A woman employee of Baripada Municipality in Mayurbhanj district has demanded stringent action against an engineer who allegedly misbehaved with her.
The woman employee, who works in the ticket counter of the municipality’s Jubuli Park, told the media that while she was working in her office on the day, municipality engineer Sachidananda Satpathy came inside and scolded her in foul language.
She alleged that the engineer dragged her out of the office by holding her hand and pushed her while abusing all the time. Hearing his shouting, other employees and nearby shop-keepers rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the engineer.
She also said Satpathy threatened her to do as he wished or she would lose her job. When asked what Satpathy wanted her to do, the woman, who works as an outsourced employee, said she did not know the engineer and saw him for the first time.
The woman has filed an FIR on the matter seeking action against Satpathy and security to her at Baripada Town police station. Stating that she feared threat to her life from the engineer, she said if police fail to take any step against him, she would sit on a dharna.
