Sambalpur: The water level of the Hirakud dam reached the optimum level on Thursday.
Informing the media, the dam authorities said that due to heavy rainfall in the upper catchments of Mahanadi, the water level of the reservoir has reached the optimum level of 630 feet.
By 6 pm, the inflow and outflow of the floodwater was 68,500 cusecs per second from three gates.
