Bhubaneswar: Monsoon poses a big challenge to the fashion conscious. How to look good even while braving the waterlogging and puddles in the city? Along with light cotton clothes that breathe one also needs footwear that is sturdy yet looks good.
The trick is to keep the footwear simple, waterproof and strong. Here is what you can try!
Crocs and ballet pumps– Undoubtedly the best during monsoon for being sturdy. Crocs are usually a little more expensive than others but last longer. Many people prefer them because they don’t bite. There are a lot of varieties available.
Casual sandals– The safest style statement during monsoon is casual sandals, preferably, ones with bright coloured straps. Since they are tied firmly to the feet, they don’t slip away or get stuck.
Floaters– If you are not one of those who follows the regular style statements, floaters are a great an option! With rubber and straps, they really look cool with jeans.
Boots– Gumboots, to be precise. They are waterproof and will keep your clothes from getting wet even when you have to cross little streams of clogged water anywhere! Imagine jumping around in different shades of gumboots in a park, along with children? Not just for fun, these are a great option while travelling too.
Gladiators– A style freak will scrounge for everything fashionable. Gladiators have been made for such people. You could sport them for parties, get-togethers and formal meetings as well. Make sure you choose the right kind of gladiators since anything too tight or too loose will be very uncomfortable.
Don’t forget to carry raincoats, umbrellas and a bright smile to pep up the weather!
