Berhampur: To check the spread of COVID-19, Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Sunday directed people in the district to wear mask or at least tie a handkerchief or scarf around their mouth when venturing outside the house.
“Those not abiding by this order will be fined. While the fine amount has been fixed at Rs 1000 fine in urban localities, it is Rs 500 for rural areas,” he said.
If someone is found loitering, he/she will be shifted to official quarantine facility, he added.
