Weekend Shutdown In Odisha’s Kandhamal To Contain COVID-19 Spread

Kandhamal: To contain the spread of coronavirus, the Kandhamal administration has announced shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays in the district.

In addition, the administration will be keeping an eye on people coming from outside the district and from corona hotspots.

According to sources, all shops and markets in Daringbadi block were closed on Saturday after the shutdown was announced. Offices and all other establishments except those providing essential services will remain closed on all Saturdays and Sundays.

Daringbadi IIC Kaushik Majhi along with his team intensified patrolling in the area as the shutdown began at 9 am.

Similarly, the Kandhamal-Ganjam border at Deberi and the Kandhamal-Gajapati border at Jhinjriguda are being strict scrutinised.
