Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued yellow warning of heavy rainfall for four south Odisha districts.
The IMD in a mid-day bulletin said that the low-pressure area formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast on Sunday now lies as a well-marked low-pressure area over the same region with associated cyclonic circulation tilting towards the south-west direction.
Under its influence, there will be heavy rainfall at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi and Rayagada districts in the next 24 hours.
Stating that the weather in Odisha will remain overall dry for three days from September 16, meteorologist of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Uma Shankar Das said that there will be less rainfall in the state in the coming days due to the weakening of the south-west monsoon.
