Bhubaneswar: The western Odisha festival, ‘Nuakhai Bhetghat’, was celebrated with fanfare in New Delhi on Sunday.
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti Biseswar Tudu, who attended a function organised on the occasion by Juhar Parivar of New Delhi, honoured eminent personalities from different fields on the occasion.
Well-known theatre personality Binod Kumar Pasayat was presented Juhar Puraskar 2022, while social activist of Sundargarh Snehalata Patel, who is engaged in the service of mentally challenged persons, was honoured with Juhar Samman 2022.
Juhar Atal Samman, constituted in memory of actor Atal Behari Patnaik, was presented to actors Purusottam Mishra and Gadadhar Barik.
Several cultural programmes including ‘Dalkhai’ dance were staged on the occasion. Hundreds of people belonging to western Odisha attended the function.
