Bhubaneswar: The entire region in western Odisha reeled under a gruelling heat wave with Titlagarh emerging as the hottest place with 44.5 degree Celsius on Thursday.
An evening release by the the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said apart from Titlagarh, the temperature rose to 40 degrees and above in Angul (42.7), Baripada (41.6), Jharsuguda (44.8), Sambalpur (44.6), Sundargarh (42), Hirakud (43.1), Talcher (43.5), Bhawanipatna (42.5), Balangir (45), Malkangiri (40) and Sonepur (45).
Besides, the temperature remained close to 40 degrees Celsius in Balasore (38), Chandbali (39.8), Cuttack (38.5), Keonjhar (39.8) and Koraput (39).
The release further said that the heat wave will intensify in western Odisha for three days up to May 12.
