Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan, who underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital on Thursday after being stabbed multiple times by an intruder in his Bandra residence, is out of danger and recovering well.
The cost of Saif’s treatment at Lilavati would normally be a private matter. But in this age of leaks, anything can be ‘sourced’ and put out in public domain.
Now, details of the Bollywood actor’s health insurance claim details have been leaked on social media.
The leaked document has revealed that a claimed for Rs 35.95 lakh has been claimed for Saif’s surgery and treatment, of which Rs 25 lakh has already been approved by the insurer.
The document, which shows Saif’s member ID, diagnosis, room category, states January 21 as the expected date of discharge from hospital.
The leaked document has raised concerns about security of personal data.
Niva Bupa Health Insurance expressed concern over the attack.
“The recent unfortunate incident with actor Saif Ali Khan is deeply concerning. We wish him a speedy and safe recovery. Mr Khan is one of our policyholders. A cashless pre-authorisation request was sent to us upon his hospitalisation, and we have approved an initial amount to start the treatment. Once we receive the final bills post-treatment, they will be settled as per policy terms and conditions. We stand with Mr Khan and his family during this distressing time,” the insurance company said.
