New Delhi: The instant messaging platform from Meta, WhatsApp has introduced new safety features — Flash Calls and Message Level Reporting — for its India users.
The two new features will allow users enhanced security and control over their usage of the messaging application.
Flash Calls will be useful for new Android users or the ones who change their mobile devices frequently. With the help of flash calls, a user can choose to verify their phone numbers via an automated call instead of an SMS.
WhatsApp said this is a much safer option, as it takes place all from within the app.
The Message Level Reporting feature will allow users to report a particular message received on WhatsApp. The users can do so by simply pressing a particular message for a longer time to either report or block a user.
It may be recalled that WhatsApp has already rolled out features like the ability to let users hide their profile picture, last seen, and more from certain people, the ability to block someone, and two-step verification (2FA).
