WhatsApp is reportedly testing increasing the number of participants to eight users in video calls. It had supported a maximum of four users till date.
This is being rolled out in the latest beta version, 2.20.50.25 on iOS and 2.20.133 on Android. All eight users have to be on the same beta version of the app to make the video call, reported WABetaInfo.
The process to make the video call is similar. You can tap on the calls tab or new group call button on the app.
The feature is expected to be rolled out soon in the stable versions of the app.
