WhatsApp Tests ‘Read Later’ Feature

San Francisco: WhatsApp is testing a ‘Read Later’ feature that lets users mute selected chats for as long as they want to. It’s like a vacation mode for people to respond when they are free, and still have it marked unread.

These messages will not be notified and will help reduce interruptions.

Once a contact is added to Read Later, messages and calls from that person will not show up on notifications.

The feature is expected to roll out by the end of this year.
