Berhampur: V Ramesh Rao, a para-athlete from Odisha has dedicated himself to serve the people of Chatrapur in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The wheelchair fencer from the state is reaching every doorstep in Chatrapur in Ganjam district to check temperatures of people with his hand-held infrared device.
Rao, who has won laurels for the state, is witnessed with a thermal screening device testing the body temperature of people on the streets of Chatrapur town. The para-athlete is also giving away dry foods and masks to people besides spreading awareness on social distancing and basic hygiene.
Rao has represented India in the wheelchair fencing event across the globe. He won the gold medal at the national wheelchair fencing championships in Chennai last year.
