Mumbai: Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman, who was referred to as the ‘Sex Goddess’ of the 70s-80s, carved a niche for herself in the industry with her bold avatars.
While she enjoyed a blissful professional life, her personal life was not a bed of roses.
According to a report in Times Now, the actress was dating actor Sanjay Khan in 1980. Sanjay was a married man with three kids.
During her tumultuous relationship with Sanjay, Zeenat was once thrashed publicly by the latter at a hotel.
Even though Zeenat was a top-notch actress at that time, she preferred to stay tight-lipped about the incident and didn’t lodge a complaint with the police also.
When years later, Zeenat appeared as a guest on Simi Garewal’s chat show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, the host asked her about the incident to which the actress said, “If you are referring to a chapter in the past, it was very brief. Right now in my mind, for many years in my mind, it’s been obliterated because that’s what the human mind does. When there is something distinctly unpleasant, you just close your mind to it and pretend that it never happened and you promise yourself that it will never happen again. And that’s how you cope.”
While her troubled relationship with Sanjay did come to an end, problems in her personal life seemed far from over.
Zeenat got married to Mazhar Khan, only to get separated after 12 years of marriage.
During some interviews in the past, Zeenat had revealed that problems started cropping up in her married life from the first year itself.
She revealed that her husband cheated on her with another woman when she was pregnant with their first child.
Zeenat is known for her blockbuster movies namely Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Ajanabee, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, and The Great Gambler among others.
