Mumbai: Having worked in a number of films with Sridevi, such as ‘Lamhe’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Laadla’ and ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’, Anupam Kher developed a strong rapport and friendship with the queen of hearts.
No wonder Kher was heartbroken on hearing about the news of Sridevi’s death in 2018.
Five years down the line, Kher shared a funny April Fool’s Day story from his ‘innocent days’, when he posed as Sridevi’s sister for a photoshoot.
“This is ME on the cover of @CineBlitz magazine. It was an April fool issue dated April 1st 1991. The pic and the story along with it had created a sensation. #MickyContractor did the make up and ace photographer #GautamRajadhyaksha clicked the pic. Those were the innocent days of cinema,” Kher tweeted along with the picture.
Kher’s tweet has gone viral, with netizens marvelling at Kher’s look.
“You look so pretty,” mentioned one user.
“This is gorgeous. Beautiful. Lovely makeup and final look @AnupamPKher sir, you’re such a sport,” was another reaction.
Praising the versatile Kher, one a netizen remarked: “Drop dead gorgeous! Absolute awe and admiration for this ravishing look🥰👍You are so versatile @AnupamPKher Sir and that seamlessly transcends in your adaptability too.”
“I remember this magazine cover from back in the day. My mum thought you were related to the lovely Sridevi ji, she would not believe us when told her the real person in the picture, she actually thought we were doing an April fool joke on her,” shared another user.
Some credited the make-up artist.
“Wow! Credit to Mickey Contractor make up. Yes those days were truly innocent. Nowadays such a cover could attract banning of the magazine and hatred for the artists,” read one post.
