Mumbai: Siddhant Chaturvedi looks ready to take flight in Bollywood. After making his presence felt in the 2019 superhit film Gully Boy, the young actor caught the eye in recently-released Gehraiyaan.
Like most budding actors, though, Siddhant had his days of struggle. He also had to do the usual rounds of auditions in Mumbai. He even spent an entire day waiting for a fake audition!
Siddhant turned up for the audition of what was supposed to be a sequel to Shah Rukh Khan’s 2000 movie Josh.
“This was some four years back. There were so many guys standing in a queue and I asked them what was happening.
They said it was an audition for Josh 2 and they are looking for Bichhoo Gang’s new leader or something. I stood in that line for the whole day. My turn didn’t come,” Siddhant revealed in an interview with Cyrus Broacha for his YouTube channel.
That was not the end of story. Siddhant returned to the spot the next morning, only to discover that it was all fake.
“Next day, I was the first one to go there… There was nobody and it was shut. I asked when it was opening and they said it was all fake. Josh 2 ban hi nahi rahi (Josh 2 isn’t being made),” Siddhant recalled.
Siddhant’s next releases are likely to be Phone Bhoot with Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter, and Yudhra co-starring Malavika Mohanan.
