When Govinda Said His Horoscope Suggested ‘Second Marriage’

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja’s strained marital life became the talk of the town after rumours of their divorce started doing the rounds.

Amid the divorce rumours, an old interview of Govinda has resurfaced in which the actor had hinted at his second marriage.

During an interview with Stardust in 1990, Govinda candidly spoke about his multiple flings and also shared that his horoscope suggested he might get married for the second time and his wife Sunita should be prepared for it.

“Tomorrow, who knows, I may get involved again, and maybe I will marry the girl I get involved with. But Sunita should be prepared for it. Only then will I feel free. And there is a second marriage in my kundali,” the actor said.

During the same interview, the actor spoke about his liking for co-star Neelam and how he had fallen in love with her.

He went on to say that he married Sunita just because he had promised her, and not out of love for her.

While talking about his other crushes, Govinda said, “Well I am a firm believer of destiny. What has to happen, will happen. Yes, I like Juhi a lot. Even Divya Bharti. Divya is a very sensuous girl. It’s difficult for a man to resist her. I know Sunita is going to be very upset with all this. But she should know that I am still resisting Divya’s charms. I haven’t given in to the temptation as yet.”

Govinda and Sunita, married for 37 years, have a daughter, Tina, and son, Yashvardhan.

On rumours of their divorce, the actor’s lawyer clarified that Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago, but the two have resolved their differences.
