When Karan Johar & Manish Malhotra’s ‘Mean’ Messages Left Priyanka Chopra In Tears

Mumbai: During a recent interview with Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu on Lehren Retro, a veteran journalist recalled an incident when Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra’s ‘mean’ messages had left the desi girl in tears.

It was during the shooting of ‘Dostana’ that a message meant for Karan was accidentally sent by Manish to Priyanka, revealed journalist Bharathi S Pradhan.

Divulging details, the journalist said, “He messaged Manish, ‘Film City aa jao. Last day hai. Isse tumko chutkara mil jayega (Come to Film City. It’s the last day. You will get rid of her)’, or something like that,’ and to this, Manish replied, ‘Thank god it’s my last day with Priyanka’.”

As the message mistakenly reached Priyanka, she was upset.

“When Priyanka got this message ‘thank god it’s my last day, chutkara mil jayega,’ naturally she started crying,” the journalist shared.

Madhu, who was unaware of this incident, was shocked to know that her daughter broke down on the film’s set.

Bharathi further said that ‘Dostana’ was Manish and Priyanka’s first film together and they “did not get along.”

When Karan saw Priyanka crying on the sets, he asked Manish what he has done.

It was then that Manish realised, he had accidentally messaged Priyanka instead of Karan.

The veteran journalist added, “She handled it so beautifully that instead of becoming enemies forever, they became the closest friends.”
