Mumbai: ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ star Kartik Aaryan confessed that he had once lied to a filmmaker to bag the lead role in a film.
Kartik revealed during a session with Agenda Aaj Tak that he had lied to Kabir Khan that he was a professional swimmer so that he could get a role in ‘Chandu Champion.’
“I had already read the script and really loved it. So when Kabir sir asked me if I knew how professional swimming, I lied and said that I do. In reality, I could only do enough to keep myself afloat,” said the actor.
Kartik went on to share that he underwent a massive physical transformation for his role in ‘Chandu Champion’. He had to spend nearly a year and a half to become an expert swimmer for his character in the film.
“One and a half minutes of lying cost me one and a half years,” joked the actor.
Kabir Khan’s ‘Chandu Champion’ revolves around India’s first Paralympics gold-medallist Murlikant Petkar. In the film, Kartik is seen swimming and winning a medal.
The film, which hit theatres on June 14, 2024, failed to impress the audience.
After the massive success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, Kartik shared that despite the success of the film, he still has to struggle to get new projects.
The actor revealed that there are camps in the industry and people who are waiting to see him fail.
