Mumbai: Filmmaker Shailendra Singh recently recalled an unusual moment involving Salman Khan that left a lasting impression on him.
Sharing an anecdote from one of the actor’s hair treatment sessions, Singh revealed that Salman remained completely unfazed throughout the procedure and even continued enjoying a plate of biryani while blood was being injected into his scalp, calling it a testament to the superstar’s remarkable pain tolerance and composure.
During a conversation with Cyrus Broacha, Singh recalled, “I went to Salman for a meeting at his place in Galaxy Apartments. In those days, we used to have Monday night parties. He was sitting at the dining table, eating, and looking at himself in the mirror. He likes to eat while looking in the mirror. There’s a small table in the kitchen with a mirror in front, so you’re sitting next to him, but you’re actually talking through the mirror.”
He added, “He’s sitting there eating biryani, you know Salman, he enjoys his food, especially after a few drinks. Suddenly, this strange-looking guy walks in, puts on gloves, takes out a needle and starts injecting his scalp. I’m watching all of this in the mirror and thinking, ‘What the f* is going on here?’ He (Salman) just said, ‘There’s a price to pay to be a star, bro.’ He kept eating while the treatment continued.”
Shailendra admitted that he was unaware at the time that the procedure was considered illegal in India.
He later learnt that Salman was undergoing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a treatment that uses plasma extracted from a person’s own blood and is commonly used to address hair loss.
The treatment had to be repeated about four times a year, he shared.
Earlier this month, Salman set social media abuzz after sharing a gym photo featuring his bald look.
While the actor’s toned physique impressed fans, it was his dramatic new appearance that became the highlight of the post.
On the work front, Salman is awaiting the release of Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming war drama ‘Maatrubhoomi’.
The film also stars Chitrangada Singh as the female lead.
