When Sunny Deol Helped Half-Sister Esha Step Into Dharmendra’s Ancestral House

Mumbai: Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s elder daughter, Esha Deol is the first and only person, who was allowed to step into her father’s ancestral house, thanks to her brother Sunny Deol.

When Dharmendra got hitched to Hema, he was already a married man with four kids.

According to a report in Navbharat Times, in Hema Malini’s biography titled ‘Beyond The Dream Girl’, it was mentioned that no one from the actress’s family was allowed to visit Dharmendra’s ancestral home.

However, in 2015, when Dharmendra’s brother Ajeet Deol, father of actor Abhay Deol, fell ill, Esha wanted to meet him.

So, she called her half-brother Sunny and he made arrangements for her visit to dad Dharmendra’s family house.

“I wanted to meet my uncle and pay my respects. He loved me and Ahana very much and we were also very close to Abhay. We had no other way than to go to his house. He was not even in the hospital that we would meet him there. So I called Sunny Bhaiya and they made full arrangements to meet him,” said Esha.

Esha also revealed that she met her father’s first wife Parkash Kaur for the first time at the actor’s ancestral house.

Talking about the brief meeting, Esha said, “I touched her feet and she left me after blessing me.”

While talking about marrying a married man, Hema had said in an old interview, “The minute I saw Dharam Ji, I knew he was the man for me. I wanted to spend my life with him. I also wanted to make sure that the marriage hurt nobody. His first wife and children have never felt my intrusion in their lives. I married him, but I never took him away from his first family.”
