Cuttack: A decision to open places of worship in Cuttack will be taken in a day or two, collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani informed on Monday

“Talks are on at various levels and with the members of the temple managing committees and a final decision will be taken in a couple of days,” he said.

While easing the lockdown norms from August, the Odisha government had left the decision to reopen religious institutions on district collectors and municipal commissioners.

On the celebration of Ganesh Puja slated for September 10, he said that the festival will be conducted in accordance with the rituals. However, no congregation will be allowed, he added.

Meanwhile, the Sambalpur administration has decided to reopen Samaleswari Temple and other religious places from Tuesday.
