Bhubaneswar: A research conducted by a team from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMSAR), Burla has been archived by World Health Organisation (WHO).

The study, which has detected a substantial drop in antibody level six months after COVID vaccination, has been archived by the specialised agency of the United Nations. The research was published in acclaimed peer-reviewed journals with globally-accredited bibliographic databases or citations.

As part of the research, the VIMSAR doctors have found out that people with blood groups O+ and B+ are more vulnerable to the infection, even after being fully vaccinated. The study included 122 participants.

The research was conducted on people who had been administered with both the jabs within a gap of 28 to 30 days between the doses. The samples of their blood were tested in at least three phases. As per the experts, about 99 per cent had developed antibodies.

The experts involved in the research are Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra,  Subrat Kumar Pradhan, Rajiv Kumar Nanda and Sumanta Sahu. They were led by RMRC Director, Sanghamitra Pati.
