New Delhi: While ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’ is out in theatres today and is already said to be the blockbuster that Bollywood has been waiting for despite the #boycottbrigad, the second film in the astraverse universe will be called ‘Brahmastra Part 2: Dev’. The team announced the title of the second film at the end of the first one.
Part I of the trilogy stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan plays an extended cameo in the movie. While it is not revealed who will play Dev in the second part, there are rumours that Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan have been approached to play the lead role in the film. The first film in the trilogy establishes Dev’s character well. Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva was directed by Ayan Mukerji. He had earlier directed ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Wake Up Sid.’
Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva was made on a budget of over Rs 350 crore and is one of the biggest films released this year. The film was released in English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. It has already recorded over Rs 18 crore worth of advance bookings.
Brahmastra has been jointly produced by Dharma Productions, and Disney, among others.
