Who Will Be Next BCCI President? Roger Binny’s Name Crops Up

Mumbai: Former Indian pace bowler and member of the 1983 world champion squad Roger Binny’s name is doing the rounds for the post of BCCI president, elections for which will be held on October 18.

Current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is likely to file his nomination for the post of ICC president while current BCCI secretary Jay Shah is likely to re-contest for the post once again.

Binny’s name started doing the rounds after his name appeared in the BCCI draft electoral rolls for the upcoming elections of India’s cricket management body.

Binny, the current president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and former member of BCCI’s selection committee, has also been invited to the board’s AGM instead of KSCA secretary Santosh Menon, further fuelling speculation that he was the frontrunner for the post of BCCI president.

The BCCI elections would be conducted for the president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer posts with nominations to be filed on October 11 and 12. Scrutiny of the nominations will take place on October 13. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 14. The elections will be held on October 18.
