Indore: Citizens of Indore were left curious and bamboozled by a bizarre sight recently.

A man was seen roaming the streets wearing a helmet fitted with a camera.

Asked why he had a camera on his head, the man claimed it was to protect himself from repeated threats following a property dispute.

The man alleged that he and his family were being repeatedly harassed and issued death threats by neighbours over a disputed property. He also claimed that his family is being assaulted by these people, who want to seize their property.

He went on to say that police have taken no action against the accused despite several complaints being filed. “We’ve pleaded for protection. When nothing happened, I decided to record everything, everywhere I go,” he explained.

“They want to seize our house. I appeal to everybody to help send these people to court for required action. Even the police do not help, and instead they threaten and attack us when we approach them,” he complained.

Calling the helmet camera his “shield”, the man said such a desperate step was needed to record the activities of his neighbours. “If anything happens to me or my family, at least there will be video evidence,” he said.

Videos of the man walking through his neighbourhood, wearing black headgear with a camera mounted on it, caught netizens’ attention, and have gone viral.

Most users sympathised with the man, and urged police to take action.

Police officials confirmed that the dispute is ongoing, and has already led to physical confrontations.

“We have tried to mediate between the parties. The case is being reviewed, and any new facts will be taken into account,” NDTV quoted a senior officer as saying.
