Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor is looking forward to fatherhood. He is also extremely protective and proud of wife Alia Bhatt.
Hitting out at against those who have criticized her for working despite her advanced pregnancy, Ranbir said such ‘mischief makers’ are plain jealous.
“I think the way she has carried herself through the entire marketing of this film (Brahmastra) being pregnant, being in the condition that she is — I think you should only be inspired by that. Any kind of criticism is just jealousy and are mischief makers… we should not take such stupidity seriously,” Ranbir told NDTV.
Alia and Ranbir got married on April 14 and announced on June 27 they were expecting their first child.
Alia didn’t take a break and travelled across the country to promote her films ‘Darlings’, which released on August 5, as well as ‘Brahmastra’, which hit the theatres on September 9.

Before that, Alia shot for her Hollywood debut film ‘Heart Of Stone’ in Europe, and also for Karan Johar’s upcoming movie ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.
Ranbir said Alia was one of the most important actors in Indian cinema, and should be respected for her work.
“One thing is clear and I’m not saying this because she is my wife. Alia in the history of Indian cinema is probably one of the most important actors there’s ever been. The work she’s done on screen or the way she carries herself, the value system that she has and what she stands by, I haven’t seen that strength in men or women and I think we should just respect that,” Ranbir said.
Alia’s delivery will be in late December or early January, 2023.
