New Delhi: “Why haven’t you arrested Jacqueline yet despite issuing an LOC? Other accused are in jail. Why adopt a pick-and-choose policy?” a Delhi court on Thursday asked the Enforcement Directorate while hearing the bail plea of Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the Rs 200 crore money laundering case.
Special Judge Shailendra Malik, who had granted interim bail to the actress on September 26, reserved the order for Friday after hearing arguments from lawyers appearing for the actor as well as the ED.
Jacqueline was present at the court during the hearing.
She has been named as an accused in the charge sheet in the extortion case against jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekar, having allegedly received expensive gifts from the conman. The court will hear arguments on the charge on November 24.
Notably, the ED has issued a lookout circular against Jacqueline and the actor had to take the court’s permission before travelling abroad last year.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar is accused of cheating many, including former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh. and has been in a Delhi jail since 2017.
