New Delhi: Bollywood actress and talk show host Simi Garewal recently shared a post defending Abhishek Bachchan amid rumours of his divorce from Aishwarya Rai. Abhishek and Aishwarya have been tackling divorce rumours for months now. The rumours were further fuelled after Abhishek or the Bachchan family did not wish Aishwarya on her birthday earlier this month. Aishwarya has also not been spotted with the Bachchan family members for a while now.
Amid these growing rumours, Simi took to Instagram on Tuesday night to show her support for Abhishek Bachchan. The Karz star shared a snippet from her talk show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, featuring Abhishek and called him the ‘nicest man’ in Bollywood. “I think everyone who knows Abhishek personally will agree he is among the nicest men in Bollywood. Good values and innate decency,” she captioned the post featuring Abhishek.
Director-choreographer Farah Khan agreed with Simi. She took to the comments section and wrote, “I fully agree! He is just the nicest guy.”
However, the post did not go down well with several social media users, especially fans of Aishwarya. Several comments called out Simi for sharing the post amid speculations of their troubled marriage. One of the comments read, “Very controversial time to put out this… Not fair yaa.” Another social media user accused her of ‘protecting’ Abhishek while staying tight-lipped about Aishwarya.
Soon, Simi pulled down the post. A screenshot of the now-deleted post has been shared on Reddit.
Meanwhile, Abhishek and Aishwarya have yet to address the claims about their troubled marriage.
Notably, Abhishek and Aishwarya have been married for 17 years and have a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Their divorce rumours began earlier this year when Aishwarya chose to skip walking into the Ambani wedding with the Bachchan family. Instead, she made a solo appearance with her daughter by her side. Abhishek fuelled the speculations by liking a post about divorce. The actors have been spotted separately lately.
