Jagatsinghpur: Wife of Krushna Chandra Champati, who succumbed to burn injuries in Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital, on Monday alleged that her husband was brunt alive over an extra-marital affair with a married woman.
Champati (27) was rescued from a primary school at Daagaon village in Jagatsinghpur district on October 5 with critical burn injuries. He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital the following day.
He was a native of Kanchanpur village under Chandpur police limits in Nayagarh district.
“He had left home on October 5 and was to travel to Ahmedabad. Soon his phone was unreachable. I got the news from TV,” said Champati’s wife.
She further alleged that her husband had an affair with a married woman and they used to meet her regularly. “We suspect that he had gone to the school to meet her and was murdered.”
Champati’s family members have demanded proper investigation and immediate action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, police have started investigation into the matter.
