Wife Of Odisha Governor Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: Sushila Devi, wife of the Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, passed away on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.

Sources said that the first lady was indisposed for some days and was under treatment.

Expressing profound grief over the sad demise of Sushila Devi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik described her as a “very warm and pious person”.

Notably, the Governor and his wife had tested positive for COVID-19 on November 1 and were admitted to the SUM COVID hospital.

Official sources said that the mortal remains of Sushila Devi will be brought to the Raj Bhawan from where it will be taken to the Swargadwar in Puri for cremation with full state honour later in the day.
