Khurda: Two members of an elephant herd sparked panic among the patients and staff of Khurda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as they entered the hospital premises breaking the boundary wall late Sunday night.
The locals had spotted the herd of 20-25 elephants moving in Kaipadar forest close to the town on Sunday morning. At night, two elephants of the herd crossed the highway and demolished a portion of the boundary wall of the DHH.
As panic gripped the patients and staff, the locals informed the Forest officials, who rushed to the spot and managed to ward off the elephants towards Kaipadar forest. No casualty was reported in the incident.
