Mumbai: The hearing on bail pleas of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha begins in the cruise ship drug case at Mumbai’s Esplanade Court.
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has reached the court. The NCB has submitted its response to the bail plea and has said that the “ingredients of the conspiracy are clear and evident”. Additional secretary-general (ASG) Anil Singh argued that the bail plea is non-maintainable, stated reports in TimesNowNews.
Aryan’s lawyers have argued that no drugs have been found on him while the court had reportedly stated that “the bail pleas are ill-conceived and not maintainable.”
Before the hearing the accused were taken for medical tests and they had tested negative for COVID-19. Depending on the judgment in the bail hearing, men will be sent to Arthur Road jail and women to Byculla jail, stated reports.
The 23-year-old and the other accused spent the night at the offices of the drugs control agency, since the transfer hours for the jail was over.
Coincidentally, today also happens to be Aryan’s mother Gauri Khan’s birthday and the family is hoping for the best.
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan were not present in court. But they will now be able to meet him — the court allowed family visits at the offices of the agency.
