Cuttack: With strict re-enforcement of traffic fines in Odisha, police and media were stunned to hear a reaction from a motorist in Millenium City on Sunday.
Traffic police had caught a woman driving a two-wheeler without the mandatory helmet. But rather than apologising for violating the law, the woman argued that she was driving at her own risk and it had nothing to do with police.
“I will not wear a helmet and there is not anything new today. I am driving without helmet at my own risk and police have nothing to do with it. If I were to die, it will be a loss to my family members and not to police,” she countered adamantly when asked to pay a fine.
However, she later went to the traffic police station and paid the fine.
