Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is keen to stage the second T20 International against South Africa at Barabati Stadium on June 12 in the presence of spectators.
The OCA has already written to CM Naveen Patnaik, Sports minister Tusharkanti Behera, Sports department secretary R Vineel Krishna and Commisioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commisionerate SK Priyadarsi and is hopeful that the state government will consider its request.
OCA officials will have coordination meeting with high-level state government officials as part of match preparation.
A Special General Meeting of OCA was held on Sunday where two budgets were placed — one accounting for spectators during the night match and another without spectators.
The Finance committee has approved the budgets, and it will be finalized by the president, secretary & Finance committee members.
The T20 International will be played under the newly-installed LED floodlights, the first of its kind in a sports facility in Odisha.
The two teams will arrive at Bhubaneswar on June 10 and will be put up at Hotel Mayfair Lagoon.
The match will get underway at 7 pm.
