Bhubaneswar: After rains, the winter chill has returned to Odisha with the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Saturday issuing cold wave warning for two days.
The minimum temperature is set to dip by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in Odisha during the next 24 hours.
According to the midday bulletin, cold wave condition is very likely to prevail in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar till 8.30 am on Sunday (February 6).
Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at one or two places in Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada and Koraput districts during this period.
Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar will continue to remain in the grip of cold wave during the subsequent 24 hours while dense fog has been forecast for one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri and Gajapati till 8.30 am on Monday (February 7).
One or two places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada. Malkangiri and Koraput are likely to experience shallow to moderate fog during this period.
Odisha will continue to witness dense fog over the next two days. One or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Dhenkanal will be affected by dense fog till 8.30 am on Tuesday (February 8). Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at a few places in north coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal and at one or two places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput.
The MeT office has forecast dense fog at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal till 8.30 am on Wednesday (February 9). Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at a few places in coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
The minimum temperature will again gradual rise by 2 to 4 degree Celsius from Wednesday (February 9), it added.
