Bhubaneswar: After rise in temperature during the last few days, cold wave conditions are likely to return to Odisha from the New Year.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum/night temperature is likely to drop by 3-5 degree Celsius from Tuesday. The cold spell is likely to intensify from the first week of January, it said on Monday.
There will be a fall in minimum temperature (night temperature) by 3-5 degree Celsius during next three days. No large change is expected thereafter in the state.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar also forecast moderate and shallow to dense fog in several parts of the state in the next few days.
Yellow warning of dense fog was issued for the district of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh in the next 24 hours. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the state.
