Bhubaneswar: The night temperature is likely to drop by 2-4 degree Celsius from December 30 as cold and dry wind is expected to blow into Odisha due to westward movement of a western disturbance, sweeping North India.

The night temperature may drop to 13 and 14 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during this week. The twin cities recorded 16.9 and 16.5 degree Celsius respectively in the last 24 hours with G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal, being the coldest at 10.8 degree Celsius.

The weather agency has warned of dense fog at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal till December 30 morning. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at one or two places  in Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur.
