Bhubaneswar: Two weeks from now, it will be game on in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha will become the first state to restart competitive sport in the country post-lockdown, with Capital Sports Club organizing a state-level cricket tournament – Odisha T10 Premier League – from June 25 to July 4.
Chief organizer Bishnu Satpathy said that government guidelines will be strictly adhered to in the 10-over-a-side meet, to be played behind closed doors. None other than players and officials will be allowed inside the playing area, and everyone involved will have to wear masks, use sanitizers, maintain social distancing and undergo regular temperature checks.
As per current government directives, players will have to do online registration by going to the link https://forms.gle/pxe5BSyS7zyjspZK9, latest by June 20. Interested players can also register themselves by visiting the Capital Sports Club Facebook page.
Selection will be done after receiving government SOP.
Six teams will be formed — Odisha North, Odisha South, Odisha Central, Capital Odisha, Odisha West and Odisha East. They will play each other on a round-robin basis with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals.
All matches will be played in and around Bhubaneswar. The final has been scheduled on July 4.
