New Delhi: If you are in need of money amid the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, you can withdraw Rs 5,000 as overdraft from certain Jan Dhan accounts even if you have zero balance.
Account holders, however, have to ensure that the Aadhar card is linked to their Jan Dhan accounts. Additionally, the account has to be at least six months old and a few transactions must have been done to avail this overdraft facility.
Apart from this overdraft facility, the Jan Dhan accounts have features such as no minimum balance, free ATM withdrawal four times a month, insurance of Rs 30,000 and Accidental Death Cover Insurance of Rs 2 lakh.
