Bhubaneswar: Chairman Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Asit Tripathy on Wednesday interacted with the members of block-level federation of Mission Shakti group engaged in management and housekeeping of Harishankar Panthanivas.
The Principal Advisor to Chief Minister is on two-day visit to Balangir district from Wednesday to review and lay foundation stones for several projects.
Tripathy, who reviewed the management of Panthanivas by women self-help groups members, he said they are well trained and hospitable too. “Block administration has provided the capital investment for hospitality and they have proven their capability by managing it in a befitting manner,” he added.
“Vesting of management responsibility to local WSHG group will go a long way in empowering them,” he said.
Harishankar is a well-known tourist point and attracts tourists, nature lovers, as well as picknickers from all over the globe.
Tripathy is also scheduled to visit agri-business farms, inaugurate new OMFED parlour and lay foundation stone of new gallery at Gandhi Stadium. After the into field visits, Tripathy is scheduled to hold discussions with local entrepreneurs for promoting agri-business and food processing units in fishery, horticulture, livestock and cash crop sectors.
