Bargarh: Chief Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of WODC Asit Tripathy on Wednesday told the district administration to promote agro-enterprise.
During a visit to the town, Tripathy reviewed the progress of developmental works in the district. On the agro-enterprise, he said, “It has enormous potential in the district in sectors of vegetables, inland fishing, processing of agriculture produce and mushroom and sweet corn farming. Besides attracting the youths, these enterprises will create employment opportunities and enhance per capita income of people.”
Tripathy also directed district officers to identify the critical gaps in infrastructure and service delivery. The district administration was asked to formulate the need-based projects on the basis of the identified gaps and send those to government for funding under Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
The review meeting was held at Bargarh circuit house where collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan presented the updates. Chief Executive Officer of WODC Saroj Kumar Patel along with district officers of various departments participated in the review.
