Woman, 2 Others Held For Photographer’s Death In Odisha

Rayagada: Police detained two men and a woman for questioning into death of a photographer in this town on Thursday.

A day earlier on Wednesday, the deceased, Bobila Raju, was found hanging in a room of his home in Kapilash Road area of Rayagada.

Sources said Raju’s parents and brother had discovered the body with many injury marks when they returned home in the evening after a three-day trip to Parbatipur for some work.

They immediately alerted neighbours and informed police.

The family claimed that Raju was abducted and then murdered. His father told the media that an unknown person had used Raju’s phone to inform him that his son was abducted. The call came around 1 am on Tuesday. The caller demanded a ransom of Rs 30,000 for Raju’s release, he added.

“The assailants killed my son elsewhere and brought his body to our house and hung it from the ceiling,” the father said.

Police said they have sent the body for post mortem and begun a probe.
