Bhubaneswar: The Special Crime Unit Commissionerate Police on Saturday arrested a woman accountant and her roommate on charges of drug trafficking in Bhubaneswar.
Those arrested have been identified as Karishma Rout (30) from Bhandaripokhari area in Bhadrak district and Pragyan Priya Swain (23) from Konark in Puri district. Karishma worked as an accountant in a private farm while her aide is a PG in Computer Application.
According to police sources, 256 gram of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh, along with three mobile phones and a laptop, was seized during a raid on a rented house in Jadupur area under Khandagiri police limits. The duo along with the kingpin used to procure the contraband and make small packets to be supplied in the city, the sources added.
