Bhubaneswar: A violent sword attack over an alleged parking dispute at Dharmavihar Barabari under Khandagiri police limits in Odisha capital on Friday night, left three persons, including a woman, injured.
According to sources, miscreants, believed to be residents of the same neighbourhood, first vandalised a car and a motorcycle
parked outside a house before forcing their way inside and assaulting members of the family with sharp weapons. The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the locality.
While the injured were rushed to Capital Hospital, house owner Arupananda Biswal later lodged a complaint with the police.
Khandagiri police have launched an investigation based on the footage, which shows the attackers entering the premises and carrying out the assault. The accused, who fled the scene immediately after the attack, are absconding.
Preliminary inquiries point to prior verbal altercations between the two parties over parking issues in the area. Police have not issued any official statement on the matter yet.
