Woman Arrested For Conspiring With Paramour To Murder Husband In Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada: Police have arrested a married woman and her lover for alleged murder of the former’s husband in Odisha’s Rayagada town.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Rayagada SDPO Rashmi Ranjan Senapati said the victim, Binay Pal of Bhimpur village under Chandili police station, was working as a cook in a hotel at Saipriya Nagar in Rayagada town.

While working in the hotel, Binay fell in love with Suniti, who was also an employee in the same eatery. They got married with the permission of their families. After Sunit gave birth to a child, she stopped working in the hotel. While she took care of the baby at home, Binay continued working in the hotel.

Meanwhile, Suniti came in contact with G Kartik alias Munna in social media. Their friendship developed into a relationship. As they wanted to get married, they hatched a conspiracy to murder Binay.

On Wednesday night when Binay was returning home after completing her work at the hotel, Kartik hit his head with an iron rod. As Binay fell down dead in a pool of blood, Kartik informed the police about his murder.

After registering the case, Chandili police started investigation. They suspected the role of Kartik during investigation and questioned him. After he confessed to the crime, the police arrested him and Suniti, the SDPO said.
