Baripada: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly killing her husband in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
According to police sources, the accused, Sukanti Nayak of Jamjhari village under Bisoi police station in the district, had a heated argument with her husband over some family issues.
As their argument escalated, Sukanti hit her husband with a wooden plank in a fit of rage. As her husband fell on the ground in a pool of blood and died, she hanged his body to make it look like suicide to avoid arrest.
On being informed by the villagers, a team from Bisoi police station went to the village. They seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
After making preliminary inquiry from the villagers, the police team arrested Sukanti. They have registered a case and started further investigation into the matter.
