Woman Attacked By Inebriated Youth In Odisha Capital, Critical

Bhubaneswar: A woman sustained critical injuries after allegedly being attacked by an inebriated youth at Chemedi Sahi in Old Town under Shree Lingaraj police limits in Odisha capital on Monday night.

According to police, the youth, identified as Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, broke into the woman’s house in an inebriated condition and abused her.

Pradhan also allegedly attacked the woman with a spade. She was admitted to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. Later, she was shifted to another hospital as her condition deteriorated.

Her husband, Ramesh Chandra Pradhan, filed a complaint at Shree Lingaraj police station. Police conducted a raid at Poparanga village in Pipili and arrested the accused.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and was forwarded to court.
